Well i watched hobbyart person Jenny Mayes make beautiful cards with her landscape stamps. I thought I will have a go at that and here is my first attempt. I used the Barbara Gray method of making a sun and when I had finished painting the fields etc. I sprayed a shimmer paint over it. I think it made a watery sun and an interesting effect. A happy birthday card for my mum in law.

Yesterday my friend her boys and I went to Morden hall park and walked around to see if the farm was open but unfortunately it was closed only for Monday. We played rounders/cricket and went onto a newly discovered playground, it even had a mini zip wire. We ate a very yummy picnic.
We walked to Merton abbey mills which has changed quite a bit since i was last there! What a lovely busy day.

It was Debbies birthday early august so as a treat I bought her a craft workshop. She chose an all day workshop called Home tweet home by Kathy Byrne. So off we went via two trains to Lingfield to our favourite shop the craft barn and it was fantastic!! We got very messy and learnt lots of different techniques and tried lots of different products we may not have normally used. Debbie said she enjoyed herself and I certainly did so a good day out. Go have a look at the workshops and try something new :)

Here is another creation using hobby art stamps I found in a crafty shop in Angmering along with some other goodies oops! I used pink petticoat paper behind and coloured the images (after masking them) using promarkers. A nice simple card.

Yesterday I went to visit the wetlands centre in barnes with the teachers I work with for risk assessments for a school visit later.

As I sit on the sofa pondering on whether to get a coffee before practicing piano after a disastrous lesson or writing labels, making resources, looking at the info sheet about the course tomorrow at work. I realise I can blog instead about what I made over the weekend, much more fun :)

I made this cute bunny card and it may confuse those who like straightness in their life but the gingham print is wobbly so difficult to get straight!!!

I am now determined to try and get better at blogging now I have downloaded blog press app. It should be easier taking photos and uploading them without the need to turn on my very old computer and then connect up the camera, so no excuses!!! Using my ottlite and iPod I will endeavour to get a photo of the children's school birthday cards. Every child in my class has or will receive a Julia original :) . It is very simple and unisex so just make a load and in the drawer for the next birthday. I used popcorn but printed on Centura pearl White card.

I know the last post was a little dark I might have to change the background as the blog looks a little dark itself too...

Anywho I made some thak you cards for all my birthday pressies so making my nans thank you card first I had to make a mouse. You see when I was 6 I made her a badge saying I think mice are rather nice and she sent back the mouse poem...

I think mice are rather nice.

Their tails are long, their faces small

They haven't any chins at all.

Their ears are pink, their teeth are white,

They run about the house all night.

They nibble things they shouldn't touch

And no one seems to like them much.

But I think mice are nice.

So now I buy her a present for christmas and birthday which has to have a mouse theme or a card with a mouse. Hence the thank you card looks like this ...

I am really trying to be a good blogger except things get in the way like work etc. My house has been invaded at the mo by a builder named Steve. He is very good and has put on a new roof to our very old conservatory and is currently plastering the walls which have seen huge leaks (no not the veggie kind!)
I have been busy at the retreat and have made some really nice cards which I will set up over this week to show you whilst I make more cards :) ... See I am getting ahead of myself Honest!!!

Whilst changing my blog getting rid of old widgets etc i thought I would say hi and I'm off to IOW again woohoo! Not only for a craft weekend but I also get one year older (or younger) in my case. I am also putting up some piccies for my friends to see what treats they get too! Yummy, I have really got into this baking lark after getting a Kenwood and it's so easy to cook up a batch of treats such as rocky road and sticky choc chip cake! Hope everyone likes it ;) Julia x

Isle of Wight trip

Well I have had a really fun and crafty weekend... I went to a craft retreat in Totland on the Isle of Wight

We stayed in this youth hostel from Friday to Sunday and spent most of the time as you can see crafting cards and scrap pages.

Debs was a much neater crafter than me, I got glittery embossing powder all over me and most probably the floor too!

We met a really nice bunch of people and also got to shop for more craft stuff so I bought some Elmer paper, if you don't know who Elmer is 'shame on you' ;) look here

We decided to visit the beach on Saturday, it was beautiful and amazing photos were taken (unfortunately not by me!)
I had a fantastic time and am already counting down the days till the next one!
Thanks to all who arranged it and made it a fantastic getaway!

Well I chose the first one and hope to get the second one as a birthday pressie maybe, but have def taken advice on board as have more scope with the first set.

Have ordered 3 stamp sets and now v excitedly waiting for the parcel(s) to arrive.

Have also been busy crafting and made Mother in laws birthday card for Tuesday. Made the backing paper after showing my mum how to make it for one of her cards. It says happy birthday annette across the paper. So very individual...

Have decided to keep it very simple too.

BAD BLOGGER

Oh my goodness didn't realise it had been soooooo long since I blogged what a bad blogger I am! 6 months later and I don't feel any wiser, however I am here to seek your advice in the crafting community! I want to chose a stamp set that will last and can be used for any kind of cards. I don't want it too specific and since I have no floral stamps that can be multi purpose i.e. used for waterfalls, aperture cards, gatefold etc I decided between these two.

First one is by Kay Carley 'Aspects of design' and is the funky flowers set. The second is by Woodware 'Daisy squares set'.

One is £19.90 and one around £11.30. I have wanted one of these sets for ages and it has been on my birthday and christmas lists... I did discover the other set quite recently but also fell in love with it.

I would love to have both but can't justify it and am also purchasing 2 other calligraphy sentiment stamp sets (one christmas and one occasions) Please advise and help and I will try to be a good blogger. Thanks

Well its not a yucky busy day, as you can see new furniture arrived on friday and then we put it together on Saturday and I have been filling it ever since and suddenly realising how much stuff I have...
Confession time I am a craftaholic and I need help.

This is SOME of my stuff requiring a home in my new cupboard and then I kept finding more. I must admit it gave me a good chance to throw out or donate to school items I no longer would use, however it did not stop me going onto wild rose studio and placing several things into the online basket at which point Andrew walked in and I came to my senses saying what am I doing???
I am going to invite friends round to play and explore some of my crafty stuff so I can use up some of it. Actually at this moment I am making my head teacher a birthday card and a commisioned one that has to be funny???
The headtecher one is looking good i have used huge funky love making a 'four O' card and some blooms from poppicrafts, will have to post a piccie on here!

Yes I started going out with him when I was 17 years old!!! 16 years ago wow nearly half my life. The one of us at youth club holiday is Andrew's favourite photo so had to go in the book. I decided to try out my new bind it all on a valentines book - I know very soppy I can hear you going YUCK!!! But it was a bit of an eye opener just seeing how much I have changed and seeing the old photos again. At the moment they are stored in photo albums in a cardboard box. I think using them in scrapping makes them fresher somehow???

Well what can I say but we (hubby and I) have had interesting times together

especially when I look back at some of these photos. Mind you my photography is not that great. Will need some hints and tips Debbie!

Hi, me again... As promised here he is, good old Thomas. The little boy who has opened this by now asked for a few Thomas like things for Christmas and so I had to make a Thomas card.

I used a colouring page and decoupaged the image both his face and his buffers. I also used 3d gloss for the eyes.

Well have just about got my voice and I have decided to craft like I mean it!!!!
So have made some cards for the family which I can't start charing with you til tomorrow. The reason being I haven't taken photos yet (as usual) and also the first person recieves their card tomorrow too so don't want to spoil the surprise.
I also decided to change my blog too it felt more spring like.
I have already made 2 - 3 cards for marie curie charity (one still in progress).
My green room (no longer pink room) is just about there we are looking for furniture and storage for my ever increasing craft stuff! Hopefully with all this cardmaking and book making I might see a dent in it eventually!!!

Have been off sick for the last two days of work with a sicky bug, isn't it great to work with children?

However my mum had sad news on Friday that her neighbour, a lady I have known since I was 15 had died from cancer. It was very sudden and quick as she had been diagnosed at the start of January with lung and liver cancer. She was very poorly and couldn't move around much as she would pass out. She was into her crafting and had hoped prior to all this to go to Sandown park craft show.
Mum and I have decided to make some cards for the Marie Curie trust and hope that the money raised will help. Please if you are thinking about making some cards for this charity, just go for it.
I know I will miss her especially all the times she has had to let me in to mum's when I forgot my key and I know mum will miss her chats, but I think this is a good kind of therapy. So I hope you will like my (and mum's if she is ok with sharing) efforts.

Welllllll I have finished the paediatrics course and have passed! Yipppeee! Debz will be pleased as I can now help her take away the year six's as the first aider. Have come down with a cold and unfortunately can't use my first aiding to make me better :( Never mind the beechams is helping and lots of rest so better go to bed soon.
Fairytale land is coming along slowly but piano practice is going great. I would post a piccie but the batteries in my camera keep dying and I think it's because they have given up on me so something to sort at the weekend.
Better also get back to my book that I might give to Andrew as a valentine pressie although should be making his brother and my brothers birthday but so distracted! Don't really know what card to make my brother can't remember if he knows who Ivor the engine is as I got a kit from QVC as well as the bagpuss one and the clangers too. He's 28 and I know he was into A team, ninja turtles and He-man but not sure what to do, any ideas anyone??????

Well I am back to work with a bump!
I have been making fairytale land within role play area. I am making thank you cards for Christmas presents as you can see.
I have also begun a book using my newly acquired bind it all (another Christmas present) So keep your eyes peeled.
I also have a new item 'a digital piano' (which sounds like a proper piano) so I can practice for my piano lessons, It makes such a difference.
I will be doing the last session of my paediatrics first aid course tomorrow and test to see if I remember it all.
In addition, I am recovering from another (of many) colds. So hopefully after Sandown Park craft show next weekend I am going to seriously chill out.

Well I can't believe where the time has gone and now its December speeding onto Christmas! Between the last post and this I have been to Naples and through a new type of Ofsted (very stressful!) Been to Liverpool to visit some friends and their fab children.
Helped children perform a Nativity and made several cracker cards for the children to design and decorate, that's just of the top of my head. It has been rather a manic few months but I have appeared from the cobwebs to say hi.
Now I am frantically making Christmas cards which I should have started much earlier than now. I work better under some pressure obviously!!!!
Anyhow better get back to it and will post some cards I have already made for tomorrow. See you then!

Birthday

I had a brilliant birthday and want to say a huge thank you for all my birthday cards and presents. They are lovely and I am slightly overwhelmed. I also got some fantastic flowers and some money to spend on more crafty stuff.
I got this beautiful card or minibook from dddeeebbbzzz and will put it on my blog tomorrow to show all the pages but need to use photobucket.

I can't wait to play with my nestibilities and penny black christmas stamps.

I also got some lovely papers and scrapbook, stamps and tag brads from my birthday swap partner Alison and want to say a huge thanks to her. I know how nervous you get sending a present to someone else and I love reds, browns etc and the stamps match perfectly.

Anyhow am now trying to tidy up the house in between sleeping off a cold which has seems to be making me more tired to day than during work????

Had a fantastic day at the Sandown park stitch & craft show. Saw loads more I could have bought and ran out of money at around 2.30 which was probably good as by then both Mum and I were very very tired. I think we had craft overload and were trying desperately to remember where items were we had seen and wanted after seeing all of the exhibits.

Two of the items are birthday pressies & I can't wait to try out the bow maker. Mum tried it out last night and it the bow came out perfectly!

Well I was asked to make quite a few cards and one of them had to be for a person who likes horse racing. I thought and thought and then realised I had these stamps 'peeking over' from woodware. The horses and fence were perfect and I am really happy with this card. I made the grass background using a graphics programme and Anita's ribbon matched brilliantly. Have been very busy today cutting out houses, a cat and display titles for the classroom with my craft robo. Also bought some new very cheap trousers only £5 for school as they get painted and play dough covered so no point in spending a fortune!!! The times I have got on the bus with a hand print or bit of brightly coloured piece of play dough attached to me. Keep the better clothes for going out.

I have been busy making cards for a child who loves fairies and princesses and a man who likes F1 and cars. I used the woodware F1 stamps and for Milly's card I used the Lilli of the valley fairy iris image. I added a bit of glitter using gelly roll stardust clear. I coloured F1 cars using gelly rolls metallics. Back to school today so hoping to get some time to get to craft too.

Being aware of their comments through comment moderation, but not hindering them with word verification is the very least I can do to reciprocate their courtesy to me.The problem with word verification is that it takes too long. The characters are very often hard to decipher, and it’s frustrating when you get them wrong and have to re-enter the little suckers!So this campaign is on behalf of busy bloggers. Please spare a thought for the poor bloggers who work so hard at getting round as many blogs as possible to leave sprinkles of blessing and good vibes wherever they go. The terrible proliferation of this awful plague of word verification is a blight on their efforts to make the Land of Blog a cheerier place.
I think most people don't realise that they have word verification on their blogs by default, or how easy it is to switch it off, and perhaps not realising how annoying it is for other bloggers. Either that, or they’re under the misapprehension that they will be bombarded with spam messages. This is not the case. I’ve had mine switched off now for three of the four months that I’ve been blogging, and have had two spam comments. The responses I’ve had from other bloggers to my earlier posts on this topic back this up. Maybe for a trial period, and see how you get on.Unless there are thousands of comments being left, comment moderation shouldn’t be too much of an issue for the blog owner, and other bloggers will also be more inclined to leave comments if they can see that you don’t use word verification.However, each to their own, and if you disagree with me, that’s cool. We can agree to differ and not visit each other’s blogs! lol ;o)
OK.. rant over. If you have read all the way to the end, thank you for putting up with it, and ~ obviously ~ do what you wish on your blogs, but I had to say something. I love to get around and leave comments, but word verification spoils the experience.

Wow you can tell I have not blogged for a few days...

Well firstly it was Andrews mum's birthday on Monday and so of course I had to make a card and used an idea I had seen in a magazine you undo the two photo clips and there are 2 more garden type pictures hidden. The pressie was some money towards a new dress for a cruise she is going on with Andrews dad.

I also have had my hair done before going back to work so I made an appointment but did not get an appointment for getiing my hair coloured. Thought it would be okay until the hair was cut and I could see these grey hairs and I love having some colour too.

Visiting Childhood and Ragged Museum

Well on Wednesday I had an outing with my mum to visit the Ragged museum and museum of childhood. The Ragged museum told the story of Dr Banardos and talked about Victorian school life, included was a Victorian classroom. Mum wanted to specifically visit the ragged museum as her grandfather had been an orphan and had spent his early life in an industrial school in London. As the children got older they then made items to raise money for the school to continue! It was really interesting.
Then we moved onto the museum of childhood and looked at all different types of toys although it was strange seeing some of the toys I used to play with in a museum! One thing that was interesting though was a little old wooden rocking horse which had this sign in front of it...
'This horse was made by boys at the Boys home industrial school in Regents park, London. The home for orphaned boys was founded in 1858 and closed in 1920'.

Just think my great grandfather could have been involved in making this item it was such an exciting find!

No so big decorating disaster

Well disaster over! Andrew decided to call his dad and ask what to do and over his dad came to look at the situation and we can mastic and then cement and then plaster the holes. So no problem. Andrew doing some DIY! Quickly got a photo as evidence that he does DIY honest! So no plasterers needed PHEW! I am off to sugar soap the walls before painting them. woohoo!

Only problem now is that all this mastic, cement and plastering is going to take longer so will still have to wait longer to craft OH NO

If anyone is thinking of decorating heed this warning. You might find more issues with your room than just a need to repaint especially if there is wall paper involved!!! As you can see we are going green two tonal and then I am having a bare winter tree painted onto one of the walls. As I have always wanted a tree in my house, strange I know.

Have been busy cleaning carpets and sorting out the house that I have not really had much time to craft except croping my pink petticoat images ready for christmas cards and thank you cards. I also have to make some commisioned cards too before going back to school!
It's so nice getting lots of things done that I normally wouldn't have time for!

Roman Villa

Well before the journey home and after more scrummy breakfast (and boy am I missing getting breakfast cooked for me) We decided to visit cheltenham and Chedworth Roman Villa.
We have been to Bath and Cirencester which are roman sites with loads to see (worth going really nice shops such as Sally Lunn's bun shop)
So thought it would be worth seeing. Cheltenham had lots of shops but we

didn't find much to go and see site seeing especially as it is Sunday, so we did buy a few things.

Chedworth was really interesting and showed lots of mosaics, a bath house and a spring. Although there is not much left. It makes you realise how much we in the UK treasure with the little roman artifacts we have. This is especially after visiting somewhere like Rome where there are artifact's every inch you visit and they are just laying around everywhere and still just about surviving!

Anyhow after we left to go home and see how Charlie and Lola were doing. I missed them terribly, they were looked after brilliantly and I would like to say thank you to a lady called Ann who fed them whilst we were away. As you can see they are not too phased about us being back!

Tewkesbury

Here is the second part to the day. We moved onto Tewkesbury and visited both the town and abbey. The town as you can see is quite old and has lovely tudor style buildings. It reminds me of Canterbury, somewhat. We had lunch here in a tea shop (very scrummy!) and then went shopping. I saw an art and stationary shop which had loads of craft stuff and ended up buying some Derwent aquatones crayons and flesh coloured watercolour paint

We visited the abbey, it is very old and dates back to 1102AD more info here.

Took lots of photos for my scrapbook so can't wait to start but need to sort out packing away my craft stuff to paint our 'pink' room

Yes it's our 8th wedding Anniversary, no idea whether that or paper, iron or what? We got my mum & dad's and Andrews mum & dad's card today and so here they are both parents cards handmade by the mum's

The first card is made by Andrew's mum and the second by my mum and she made the top cats topper as a magnet which is now sitting on my fridge. Inside Andrew's mum's card she used one of those embossed rose stickers similar to the one at the front. See I am surrounded by crafty people!

Well anyhow I better tell you about the second day of our little holiday. We went to Gloucester and started with a HUGE breakfast and toddled off to the centre of Gloucester

and it's cathedral. There was lots to look at generally and museums galore! Including a traditional Aunt Sally's sweet shop which I had to go and see...

Here is a picture of one the corridors or cloisters in the cathedral, which they use in two of the films of Harry Potter and a picture of the cathedral gardens, really pretty...

I really enjoyed the break but am equally happy to be back. I really missed Charlie and Lola, and will now have Charlie trailing after me for the next few days becoming my shadow! Lola on the other hand just keeps appearing from nowhere and meowing at me as if to say 'Where were you!' I am now catching up with washing and tidying as well as trying out gifts I have bought over the break!!!

For our Anniversary we went to a hotel called 'Cheltenham Chase' in Gloucester. Outside it is really modern but inside and the grounds were beautiful. We looked out onto Coopers hill the famous cheese rolling hill! Here is a view from our bedroom window!

Andrew also surprised me by laying on champagne and chocolates, all which were extrememly yummy!!!

Apart from that we enjoyed the jacuzzi and steam rooms as well as lots of swimming before going to a very big 3 course dinner, again very yummy but did need to recover lots before breakfast the next day! I will fill you in on the second day tomorrow as I have loads of photos and feel all the photos are better in bite size pieces! Just like the chocolate!!!!

A lady a work absolutely LOVES Bon Jovi. I had already made a card for her via another friend. She got back from New York and missed her birthday as she was away then, So I made her this card which she loved. She told me lots when I gave it to her. I had watched a Artylicious programme on create and craft and was taught how to make this folded book/card. I was really pleased on how it turned out!

Well I would blog what I have been working on but a certain 'someone' might realise it was for them and I have not had time to finish the circle minibook yet but it is coming along! Well today I visited Guildford so decided to blog this instead of my unfinished circle minibook which needs some more embellishments. Guildford was fantastic we saw some really old places dating back to medieval times one being an undercroft and also a chapel with beautiful gardens. We also had a bit of lunch & shopping and then went onto the guildford museum and learnt a bit about Lewis Carroll who wrote 'Alice in Wonderland' I wanted lots of inspiration for my 'wonderlandish' garden.

Well I have been busy having a go at the minibook from ukscrappers set through Sultry Summer Stash Bash 08 by Annette yesterday. Thank you Annette I really enjoyed the challenge adn the instructions were so easy to follow.
I am even considering making a couple of square ones for christmas cards too.
I have loads of fun chosing colours and ribbons etc. Although the decorating will take a little longer so will post it tomorrow!
I had to laugh as I cut out all the papers (Now that's funky) to cover the minibook which happens to be a circle minibook as look what shapes I made!

Yse its a load of old pants!!!!lol

Any ideas on what I do with them now apart from pant cards???

Andrew, My brother & I bought her a dog charm for her bracelet & my dad bought her the mobile phone charm. Mum had the bracelet from 19 yrs old and had her charms stolen a little after, so we are gradually replacing them over the years as you can see.
We are also going out to a restaurant to celebrate her birthday too. So I will let you know what she thinks?

We have a child in Reception, who will not be going onto year 1 but will be leaving for New Zealand. She loves her football hence the element in the card. She has a few friends in the class who will miss her lots and I know she is a but wobbly about going, but we will keep in touch with the family.

I should really explain this card... The person is leaving for cambridgeshire to become a deputy head, he created two characters to help teach the curriculum, little leonard and bad bernard. So they appear in this card. Also the teacher supports norwich city so this also appears on his card.

I created the paper digitally to tie in the colours of his football team. The teacher is very very tall hence we only see part of him in the card...

By tomorrow they should have recieved their cards and pressies.

Well my third and fourth would have been sooner but i have either been sleeping or not able to speak. I had a viral throat infection which has made my throat feel like a gobstopper has got lodged in my throat permanently and still is there now. But enough of that am back and making cards manically to catch up with all I have to do before Wednesday end of term. Still working though for week and a half after that at holiday club.

It's not the best picture but its for someone who is going to be a drama teacher, who loves nature and bugs, who also will become a part time nanny, hence her new job.

Yes me again I have made my second car and Australian themed so am hoping she will like it. She also loves diving and had divers on her wedding cake so important to add them. Most of today has been very quiet as I have no voice at all. Andrew joked about getting a bell or even communicating through the computer. I think it's a cold thing as a lot of the day was spent sleeping or on the computer.

I can't believe I have not blogged since Saturday! Been very tired at school and still feel I am catching up from the weekend.

I made some stained glass butterflies with the robo so the children can add tissue paper to make the stained glass effect.

My cat has also been playing with my magazines as you can see!!!! Naughty Charlie...

I recieved my pink cropadile this week and also my cat scrapbook by cloud 9 with papers and stickers etc. So have lots to play with, all I need now is the weekend to play. One question fro all you cat lovers, how do you stop your cat from loosening their collar as we have tightened Lola's 3 times now and every evening we notice it is loose again.

I better go as have an early morning tomorrow and already v sleepy.

I have spent the day trying desperately to find ideas for some leaving cards I am going to make, I have made a start but thought I'd share with you a scrap page I made using the fancy pants paper. I craft robo'd the text and found some little chip board words to add to the page.

Am blogging late! Have been out at my hubby's friend's work leaving do. Started with cocktails and then moved to another place with wine, and then onto a beach party. So ever so slightly squiffy I am writing this and hoping my spelling isn't too bad. Have had a whirlwind week at work and I think ending it very relaxed is the right way to go. I have realised though that I am getting older!

If not too drunk from no 1 go back to school to help with ICT training for our school staff
Feed Charlie his antibiotics some how as he is poorly :(

Right I began thinking about what I was going to make using cleo crafts paper and then thought I would relax and catch up on the tips and techniques of craft on QVC. As I felt shattered after looking after the other Reception Class for the day. They were very very good but it is tiring being a teacher for the day! Then straight after school going into after school club and keeping lots of children entertained for 3 hours. So collapsed on sofa to do the above!

Well I then found myself opening the laptop and ordering the big bite pink cropadile, it just found it's way into my basket.

Then the next thing to land in the basket was a cloud 9 cat album and stickers etc. I had especailly after worrying all day about Charlie who had decided not to eat like he normally does (excessively) and to go to the litter tray obsessively but not go, if you know what I mean. So he is now sitting next to me after visiting the V.E.T. and getting 2 injections and lots of antibiotics for cystitis. I did not know they could get that! There are lots of reasons he could have got it too.

Anyhow I needed to stop so have come to confess all and get ready to confess to hubby when he gets home. Although should be fine just got paid so need to ease off until Sunday when I go shopping with my friend Sharon! OH NO close your wallets and purses quick!!!!

Still realised after this I have to do my tag so will do it now for tomorrows post.......That's if I can keep away from spending...

No I am not going to another Bon Jovi concert, no I am not going to New York, however I have recieved in the post a parcel which I found in my porch when I got home.

Yes I got a parcel from Cleocrafts a monthly kit which was fantastic. Lovely fancy pants papers, suede paper and plain colour papers, brads, flowers, twirly wirly things which I had to text debz and ask how I used them, i.e. paper clippy/attachment to brads. So exciting, especially as I don't want to use them up! I also made a card the other day too which I had not

blogged so here it is! piccie is from 2 peas in a bucket font. Having fun with those too. Sorry haven't done the tag yet but had to share my excitement at getting posh papers which are double sided!

Bon Jovi Concert

Well all I can say is Jon did his bit and boy did he! The concert was fantastic, only thing is I brought my camera and not my memory stick inside so no photos were taken by me. I am awaiting instead for my brrother in law to send some to me so I can share what I saw with you. I will look at my hubbys phone and see if the photos on there will do, but not holding out much hope as BIL's camera was so much better.

All I can say Caz is I hope you had as good a time as I did. I sung myself horse and jumped up and down and now I am really tired and achey but still smiling!!!!!! Jon is very yummy he encouraged the participation of the crowd 150%!
Anyhow have left you with a card that says absolutely fabulous and that is exactly how I feel, now going to sleep for a bit though. Am dreaming of my newly ordered July kit from Cleocrafts

Am now a qualified First Aider at work for the next 3 years. Am much more awake and full of energy unlike yesterday...

I am revising for First Aid course tonight so no chance of blogging or crafting. So tired anyhow! Now know how to deal with shock, burns, asphyxia etc etc. Just in case you need first aid whilst typing away on the computer to me????
Doing all of the resuss annie and recovery position tomorrow and the test, as it is an update on my 4 day course 6 years ago, did a 3 year ago update too in between.
Now off to find my First aid book which will be in a box somewhere in the house....
Does anyone know what first aid to administer for brain having to work too hard? Has been interesting though and have a really goos teacher.

I made a card for my husbands friend for a baptism. I came across the idea on another site somewhere and decided to see how it would look. I think and hope it's quite an elegant, simple card.

It was so easy to do, I needed to cut out the cross within a square using the craft robo placed mirri card behind and I printed out the baptism message as the backing paper.

Well I think I was quite good since it was my first visit to Craft Central. Fortunately there was one quite near to the hotel we stayed in for the wedding over the weekend. Mum and I were quite restrained, I think it helped with knowing that our husbands were waiting for us.

I had a great time at the wedding and unusually the weather was fantastic even though everyone except my Nan expected it to rain.

It was a lovely day and the children were brilliant, they had a bouncy castle later on which they kept visiting to see when it would be ready to go on. Adults didn't get a go though :(

The wedding took place at a very old agricultural college which will no longer be around for much longer and my cousin had the last wedding to be performed there. It's a shame as the college has been the main part of the village and was beautiful both inside and out. Also the wedding was an official 'Kentish wedding'.

Card Inserts

My Nan loves making cards using pressed flowers (a family of card makers!!!). I bought her a microwave flower press for her birthday a few years ago and she hasn’t looked back since.
She does have problems with making the card inserts as she has no computer and mum has made some card inserts for her before.

So she asked again if we could make some more. Mum asked if I could help her to make some too.
I decided as I have recently made card inserts using faded pictures as the background I would do this for her.
This is the out come and I am quite pleased on how they turned out.

We are giving them to her on my cousins wedding day as Nan lives in Kent and to send it is quite expensive, so will let you know what she thinks.

Catching up

Sorry I have been not around...

Well on Wednesday I looked after 2 children or 1 eight year old and a teenager (who I wasn't looking after).

They have really grown up since I last saw them it was a bit of a shock. I did not get home till 12.45 very very tired!

So Thursday I caught up on sleep!

Friday became Father's day as dad was busy doing sound for a play, so we went out for a meal. Here is his card...

Then on Saturday I was sick. I was supposed to go out for the day to London with family but couldn't. So rested and was taken to Garson's farm later to 'get out of the house'.

Still chilling but now able to play with all my goodies. Thought you might be interested but I find stamping hit and miss but no longer as the crafter's companion 'rock a blocks' really do work. LOOK...

I have never ever got 3 crisp images in a row. So it really does work I must admit I was dubious and thought it gimicky but it's fab.

So now i am off to paint these up for anniversary cards to sell for our 60th garden party, which I can't be at as I am at a wedding, which I am also making a card for. So now to get myself into gear.

I have been very busy after being at school til 6 Andrew and I decided to go to eat and chill out at the pub. He has been studying for his ACCA exams and he had to take his exam today. Well have been sooo busy getting lots and lots of parcels as you can see....All I need now is some time to go and play!

First I got some items from crafters companion. I thought I might see if the rock a blocks work and if it is easier to get a crisp stamped image without faded areas etc.

I also visited poppicrafts and bought all this for not much money and finally found black flowers so I can make some black and white cards/scrap pages with them, I also got some cat brads which I can use with my cat scrap pages. They have a cat image, purr... and cat nap on them.

I finally bought some cd's from funky hand which are fantastic and can't wait to use them. I also got some penny black stamps and woodware stamps from whichcrafts. Well what more can I ask for. I won't be able to use them til at least thursday so watch this space......

Well I have not blogged for a while but I made a card for a friends birthday and then forgot to take a photo!

I have been doing my dad's card but can't publish it as he looks at my blog!!!!! I have had a new reception parents evening tonight as well as trying to help a poor 'Espresso'(website) lady to train our teachers. Unfortunately everything that could go wrong did! I don't think our teachers have been encouraged to use it as a result.

I have also been creating a minibeast garden role play area and have done the lettering ready to put up. I will take a piccie when I have finished but already the children are desperate to go in...

'miss shoe' card

Have recently found out that someone I know will be moving away so decided to make her a 'miss shoe' card to say goodbye. She will be moving to another country and so it will be a bit difficult to visit but hopefully contact will be kept through email and sending cards.

Used my favourite the pink petticoat and dovecraft amethyst papers. Love the amethyst as you don't need too much otherwise it gets too busy so I do nice and simple!

It was fantastic. It was my bestest ever play I have seen. The children also absolutely loved it! There were stories from the books incorporated and the characters were 2D puppets. A few of the children fell asleep on the coach back and I know how they feel as I am shattered already!

To add to my excitement I recieved one of my orders, an artylicious cd 'fantasy flowers' as I am going to make some inserts for my Nan when I visit her.

I also made the double pocket card as shown on enfys blog. I don't know how to use it and what to put in it so if anybody has any ideas please post them I'd be really really grateful!!!!!

Anyhow I am off to go to bed to catch up on sleep.

As you can see on Monday I recieved a lovely handcrafted card from debz to say thank you for helping out with the 'Isle of Wight'. Thank you debz it's fab. I just hope she didn't break the camera trying to get the photos of me off the camera! I also got a book voucher from my Head teacher as did the rest of the staff to say thank you too. It was such a shock, especially as we do this every year for the last 6 - 7 years and I never expected anything! So can't wait to pop to Kingston to chose a book.

Funny enough before this card arrived I also made a thank you card using the HOTP papers etc.

Oh I am really ever so very excited by the way, as going to the theatre with the children to see Charlie and Lola (not my cats) one of the books we are seeing is based on 'whoops but it wasn't me' and a few others! I think I am about as excited as the children and many of the staff are starting to say I look like Lola as I wear the hair clips in my hair I have the wide eyes and similiar hair too. What do you think????

I tried out my new HOTP papers and embellishments and used it to make one of the suggested layouts. I didn't like a lot of them as I felt they were a bit busy but liked this as it was simple.

I also got a thank you card which I will post tomorrow which was fab, although there are photos of me so be warned...

Teenager

I have been sooo busy as usual and have been trying to remeber what is like to be a teenager, so I can make this card for a friend of mine! I tell you my teenage years were scary!

I have been busy practicing for my piano lesson on monday and making this card. Sorting out projector and laptop and sound for a PA system. This evening at least I get to relax and go to my inlaws for a meal.

Anyhow on with getting ready for school!!!!!

Cinema & the cities!!!

Well yesterday went to see the cinema, not in two cities but two towns in instead! Indiana was okay but not as good as the first three films and there is quite a bizarre end but that's all I am saying! Sex and the city was like an extended episode of the series, it was funny in places too. I don't want to spoil either if you are seeing them! I also got a 'free bag' by buying a bag of sweets. Bargain!!!
Prior to Indiana I bought some fab papers from WHSmith, 12 x 12 Dovecraft Kate Knight designer pack Aquamarine floral prints. I will show you tomorrow! They were only £4.99 another bargain!!!!
So have done well today. I made a card too and this is using pink petticoat flowers doodle-icious Rainbow! I also used Amethyst Dovecraft 8 x 8 papers and a dotty brad I had lying around...

Yes I have made another card using one of the new stamps. I have also been awandering and found out how to do double pockets which I will use to make a card for my time to craft challenge

which happens to be pockets and as I have never used that in cards before I thought I might have a go...

Anyhow off to see 'Indiana Jones' at lunchtime with a frankie and bennys lunch and then back to see the 'Sex in the city' girls for the evening so having a cinema fest with my friends. Good end to half term I think!!!!

Well I did not get a chance to say hello yesterday! Been here there and everywhere doing sound for a residents association meeting for the first time. I must admit I did not do it very well! Microphones died on me and the PA system is ancient!

So here I am sitting at my laptop whilst it is tipping down outside after having to retrieve the washing very quickly earlier. It started out as such a sunny morning.

I have made this card with one of my new stamps, I think this is my favourite stamp. I used 'the big one' papers from papermania for the background and coloured it with watercolours.

Thank you dddeeebbbzzz for the fab award you sent me. I guess I can send it on to 4 creative people...

So here goes:

I send it to Andrea and Rainbow lady (Cynthia) as they both knew me and encouraged me before I blogged with my cardmaking.

I love the look of cleocrafts and the jewellary she makes so sending it to Mandi

Wow have been tired today!!!! Could have slept most of today but was busy meeting up with friends and making another commisioned card from a friend.

Here it is...

My cats have been shadowing me all day and only disappeared when anyone turned up!

Sorry I have not been able to chat to any one but...

SURPRISE! I am back from a somewhat wet and windy

Isle of Wight. It has been good weather until today and being in the outdoors watching my group of children working their way round various activities whilst being rained on was not my favourite activity! However my group of children were fantastic and so supportive of each other. They all took part in everything such as outdoor climbing, quad bikes, climbing up and over various obstacle courses, tunnel trails, aeroball, archery etc....

All are exhausted and very tired, teachers included. So off to bed soon after MORE FOOD! Feel like I have eaten two ton over this weekend. Anyhow I am sure dddeeebbbzzz will fill you in on more tomorrow!
